Ep 58. Why You're Doing Everything Right but Sales Are Slow
Nourish Your Brand · Episode 58
You know that feeling when your momentum dips? You're posting, selling, taking calls, doing everything right, and nothing's moving. So you tweak the funnel, rewrite the copy, blame the algorithm. But none of that is the actual problem.
Today we walk through three moments you might recognise: the ghosted DM, the offer spiral, and the content treadmill. Let's get into it.
The egg analogy
Picture a perfect sunny-side-up egg on the pass, yolk intact, crisp edges. Instead of serving it, you start adding sauce, a side salad, more garnishes, "it's not quite right." Soon the plate's messy and the egg is buried under a mountain of extras, and no one can tell what the dish even was.
Those extras are the tweaks you make in each of these scenarios, when the real fix is something else entirely.
Scene 1: the ghosted DM
Someone's interested, asks for the link, you send it, they vanish. You think "I need a better nurture sequence" or "I'm attracting freebie seekers."
What's actually happening: they hit your sales page and it looks like eight other offers they've seen, same colours, same fonts, even the same stock photos. The page could belong to anyone, so there's no hook to remember you by.
At this level, sameness reads as risk. Tweaking the copy or rebuilding the funnel just moves the same blandness around, because without a distinct offer identity, there's no reason for their brain to remember your offer. (This is the overlooked-offer problem from Episode 19)
Scene 2: the offer spiral
Sales feel slow, launches aren't hitting, so you think "maybe my offer needs fixing", update a module, add a lite version, a VIP upgrade, a shiny new offer.
What's actually happening: your signature offer is blending in with the rest of your business, so it's lost its freshness, clarity and authority.
The telltale signs: you can't articulate what sets your main offer apart, your sales pages all look like variations of each other, and people ask "what's the difference between X and Y again?"
Multiplying offers just adds decision fatigue, and module tweaks can't be seen until your offer has its own identity. (More on giving it that identity in Episode 40)
Scene 3: the content treadmill
You post constantly, carousels, stories, reels, loads of value, and engagement's flat. You think "my hooks are weak" or "I just need to post more."
What's actually happening: the association is missing. People see your tips and know you're smart, but they don't connect it to your specific offer, because there are no visuals, motifs or phrases tied to it, and nothing points to the next step.
Awareness without association doesn't convert. Posting twice as often just spreads the same awareness, not the bridge to your offer. (I fall into this one myself.)
The one fix
Zoom out and there's a through line: you're visible and delivering, but your offer isn't standing out enough to be associated with you and remembered at buying time.
These aren't three problems, they're one, and the fix is offer branding. It makes your offer unmistakable at a glance (ending ghosted DMs), puts your signature offer back front and centre (ending the spiral), and gives your content an association bridge (getting you off the treadmill).
It all boils down to your offer being recognisable, because when people recognise what it is, who it's for and why it matters, they decide faster.
Ask yourself this week
Which scene is yours, the ghosted DM, the offer spiral, or the content treadmill?
Is your sunny-side-up egg still front and centre, or buried under garnish?
Could someone tell your offer apart from your competitors' at a glance?

Here's More…
Why are my sales slow even though I'm doing everything right? Usually because your offer isn't recognisable, it blends in, so people don't remember it at buying time. Funnel tweaks, more offers and more content treat the symptoms, not the cause.
Why do people ghost after I send my offer link? Often because your sales page looks like everyone else's, so there's no hook to remember you and sameness feels like risk. A distinct offer identity gives their brain a reason to choose you.
Will posting more content fix slow sales? Not on its own. Without an association between your content and a recognisable offer, more posts just spread awareness, not sales. Offer branding builds that bridge, which is what the Offer Oven is for.
